Is your pursuit of a flawless, matte "Porcelain" finish thwarted by oily skin? Do mineral cosmetics work great for you with the exception of some oily breakthrough?

Porcelaine Oil Control Mattifying Primer Powder is a Magnesium-based translucent primer powder which is finely milled with a creamy feel. A thin layer of Porcelaine applied to your problem areas can greatly help in keeping your image of perfection... all day long.

Some magnesium-based oil control powders are stark white and although they are translucent, this can product a chalky effect on darker skintones. Porcelaine alleviates this problem by offering neutrally tinted translucent powders in light-medium , medium and medium-deep. We suggest that you try samples in at least 2 of these tones to find the best match for you. After applying Porcelaine, you will see that it melds with your skin and provides an invisible canvas on which you will apply your Aromaleigh Voil or Glissade or Pure Cover. We suggest that you use a smooth non-latex sponge or flocked sponge to apply.

Ingredients: Magnesium Stearate, Calcium Carbonate, Sericite mica (CI 77019), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499)

Size: This product is packaged in a clear plastic jar with sealed sifter. Full size: .5 oz net volume (Approx 7 grams net weight). Mini Jar: .33 oz net volume (Approx 4 grams net weight). Sample Baggie- 1/4 teaspoon (enough for several applications).

NOTE: While we have made all attempts for photographs to accurately depict colors, photography unfortunately does not accurately reveal the depth and interplay of color and effect of these powders. Also, please note that variations do exist between different computer monitors.

To order samples and/or sets, you may view your options below and click for purchasing details or, simply click on the "Express Purchase" tab above and choose the full size jars or samples you would like, then click the "Add selected items to order" button within that tab.

pretty darn good!

Comments:

this oil control mattifying primer is reliable and works well especially during those hot and humid summer months when you're sweating and shining it up. for me, the powder stays on for an average of five to six hours; when it's more humid outside, it lasts about four or so. i'm pretty happy with this product and would highly recommend it for oil control during summertime. on a sidenote, i am relatively pale and the medium shade still showed up very light on my skin. if you fall on the pale/fair-skinned side, i'd suggest the medium or even medium-deep.
Remarkable

I am completely amazed with this product- I have terrible acne scars ( holes ) that has ruined my self-esteem. i mix this product with a little of the foundation primer and it fills in the scars amazingly......

Comments:

If I had to choose one Aromaleigh product this would be it. I have tried so many primers and powders that are formulated to control oil but this one eclipses them all by an amazing amount. I put this on in the morning and I can go for 24 hours and my skin gets only a wee bit of natural glow that looks great. This product is the best for when I go out partying because there is no need to reapply and I am assured that I will look great until dawn. The other perk of this product is it makes my skin stay clear. The oil is absorbed so it can't clog my pores and cause blemishes. This is my miracle product and I am so grateful to you Miss K, I've been looking for something like this since I was 12 lol! I even have two jars so if I lose one or run out I will be covered until I can get more. For perfect skin this is a must.
a must for summer

Porcelaine is a must for the summer! It definitely helps MMU stay longer and not all grimey looking by the end of the day. I've tried quite a few other formulas, but I feel Aromaleigh's is one of the better formulas out there.
oil control primer- light/medium

Comments:

for some reason, this made my face even more oily. my problems are generally in the t-zone. tried this out for a few days & by noon, my face was all shine. maybe i'm not as oily as some, but it was enough of a problem for me.

for now, i'll stick with the silk primer & ultra resolution powder in clear. it works for me to control shine.
Must-have!
By Ella Runciter on March 23, 2009

Comments:

Porcelaine is one of those essential makeup items that I use every day, without fail. I use a mix of X, 00, and 1YL Glissade, and I use the light-medium shade in Porcelaine. It's undetectable under foundation. I pat a tiny bit on my t-zone and eyelids with a flocked sponge, and it controls oil all day. I don't have very oily skin, but if I don't use Porcelaine under my Glissade, I end up with some shine on my nose and my eyeshadows start to crease by lunchtime. Porcelaine prevents that and keeps my face matte all day. I even stopped carrying blotting papers and powder in my purse because I find I no longer need them. It is also very long-wearing and stands up against hot, humid, sweaty conditions (I used to wait tables in a restaurant, and Porcelaine would last through my entire 6-hour shift and beyond.). I can't say enough about this product!
Fantastic.
By Shannon on March 17, 2009

Comments:

I have extraordinarily oily and sensitive skin. I am usually fairly leery about new primers but this one is excellent. I can't wear it alone due to having dark skin but, under foundation it's just beautiful. Another excellent product.
Porcelaine
By Dione on February 26, 2009

Comments:

I've got combination skin that gets slightly oily throughout the day. This gives me about 3-4 hours before shine through. I wish it would last a little longer. However, I've been using it on my eyes as well before the eye shadow primer and I really like it for that. It helps to keep the color on my eye all day, when if I forget the color is gone within 3-4 hours.
Hooray for Porcelaine!
By Heather Haws on February 8, 2009

Comments:

I have a very oily t-zone, and Porcelaine makes a big difference in the wear of my makeup. A light dusting as my first step helps keep the shine down until I touch up at noon. A little goes a long way!
Actually makes a difference!
By Callin on January 17, 2009

Comments:

I ordered this in conjuntion with my Voile foundation and found that it makes a HUGE difference on my oily skin. Most companies ignore the fact that minerals and oily skin don't mix, but Aromaleigh rectified that problem with this product! Applying the primer powder before the foundation ensures matte coverage for at least six hours--longer than any product on my face. After six hours I touch up with oil blotting sheets and a sweep of baby powder and I'm good for the rest of the night! I have never been this shine-free before!
This works!
By Laura on January 3, 2009

Comments:

I have oily skin and this product really does what is promises. I put on a thin layer with my flock sponge on my oily areas of my skin (use very little so it lasts) and then cover with my glissade foundation...I haven't seen any greasy "breakthrough" since. Great product !
Great for my pily skin
By Angelica on December 29, 2008

Comments:

I have oily skin which has lately been acne prone. I never really wore make-up until I found Aromaleigh, and this product is perfect. I use light coverage as a primer, and although it doesn't stop my face from getting a bit oilier later in the day, it does keep away that gross feeling I usually get when my face does get oily. This product, with a dab of concealer and a wash of foundation, with the occasional use of an oil blotting sheet, keep my skin looking(and feeling) great all day. I use Glissade 2WL and the medium was perfect for me, but you only need a little! I've tried other mattifying products before and they only made me look chalky (my family even asked if I was feeling alright), but AL's Porcelaine is just right! I apply with a flocked sponge.
Great Matte Powder
By Cheri on December 20, 2008

Comments:

This works great as a base under the mineral make-up and as a finishing powder to give you a nice matte finish and help with oily areas. I have combo skin with oily break through on the t-zone. It is a little bit drying during winter, so I have switched to the silk powder for winter time.
mattifying power too ligh
By Catherine Thompson on November 18, 2008

Comments:

This product is still way too white...I thought by choosing medium it would be close to the shade of mineral voile. I am not even using it after the first time.

* Note from Aromaleigh- Less is more with this product. The tiniest amount yields results. You shouldn\'t be getting coverage to make your skin white. If you are, you are applying way too much product.
Great for Oily skin
By Kristin on November 11, 2008

Comments:

Before purchasing this I used many other primers, from Mac to Jane Iredale. This one in my opinion is far better, and less expensive.
Works for me
By Cassie on October 20, 2008

Comments:

My skin usually gets oily within a couple of hours after cleansing, especially on my T-zone, and I hate it--it's especially bad in the summer time in the lovely hot, humid South. This is the first product I've tried that really does control the oilyness througout the day.
Ehhhh
By Sarah on October 9, 2008

Comments:

I have SUPER oily skin and this doesn't really seem to help much. I can see a little benefit so if you don't have really oily skin it might do the job. It does smooth out the skin well for application of the makeup.
WOW! You MUST try this!
By Sandi on October 5, 2008

Comments:

I have really oily skin. My entire life has been about finding something that would enable makeup to actually stay on my face instead of sliding right off after about an hour. I noticed the difference immediately when I used Aromaleigh primer and Voile foundation... NO makeup sliding off! I didn't even have to blot until the afternoon, and even then it wasn't entirely necessary. I am BEYOND happy. The lady doing my hair last night commented on how great my skin looks and complained about her oily skin... she couldn't believe it when I told her my makeup was from 8am and there had been no touch ups AND I also have super oily skin. She ordered from Aromaleigh today. Thanks so much for making this... from your new loyal customer!
wasn't thrilled

I have very oily skin and this product didn't work for me. I first tried to use it as a primer - total failure, got oily spots in 20 minutes after application. I tried to put it afterwards to matify the oily spots - worked better, but still - bee... Anyway, couple points to consider - do not order light and medium if you want a hint of colour. The midium is only called "medium" , its totally WHITE. The good this about this product - you don't need much to cover the entire face.
Yay!!!

Comments:

My skin becomes very oily & shiny during the day. It also doesn't help that I'm always traveling & running around 6 out of 7 days of the week & I'm usually awake for 15 to 17 hours a day. This powder is amazing for me! It works extremely well under foundation & keeps my skin from becoming oily. Although, it seems to have the opposite effect when applied on top of foundation.
great for oily t-zone
By Marie on September 11, 2008

Comments:

this really mattes out my t-zone for a good 4-6 hours. i may need to reapply every now and then but i just quickly use my fingers to pat the oily areas with this primer and voila! oil is gone! and it actually covers some redness around my nose too. matte, smooth, w/ light coverage. what a great primer for us oily t-zone girls (i don't put this on my cheeks because of my combination skin - dry cheeks, oily t-zone)

for reference, i'm 2w/1y & i use the light-medium primer shade. it's actually more light - almost white, but it neutraizes the ruddiness of my t-zone. if you want a hint of color don't get light-medium.
Finally, perfection!
By StuckInSC on September 11, 2008

Since receiving my sample of this primer, I have used this for 2 days and love it! My skin has large, visible pores. I am normally oily all over within 30 minutes of doing my face (and I'm over 40!). Today I used this, and for the 1st time my face was not shiny and looked healthier than ever. No pores, no shine, no dry look either! I am astounded.
FANTASTIC
By DESSA on August 28, 2008

Comments:

This powder greatly reduces my skins oily-ness at the end of the day; my foundation stays so much truer in color and texture when I use this primer. It is well worth the money, and it helps even out my skin tone and texture. Great stuff!
Works great
By Akimon on July 25, 2008

Comments:

Really controls shine. I actually use it as a finishing powder, mostly in my T-zone.
Colors are bit on the white side, I need to use Medium; even though my skin is very light, the light-medium can end up bit chalky.
it helps me in the humidity...
By Abby on July 21, 2008

Comments:

I have level 1 colouring and use this in the light medium; my skin is oily in the T zone area, and that's where I apply it. I recently moved back to South Carolina (high humidity here all the time), so my skin got oilier (again). For me, it keeps my foundation (whether it is Glissade or Voile) in place with no smearing later in the day. I like that a little goes a long way too... I'm very happy with this product!
stay put

I honestly didn't think this would work. BUT IT DOES. How? I have no clue, but I have used an expensive brand of oil blocker primer for several years now, and though a powder wouln't work. Boy was I wrong. This stuff is very good
?
By Julz on June 3, 2008

Comments:

I think I must be applying this stuff wrong because it feels like my skin is even oiler with it. I think it has a nice color, and it does make the Glissade adhere better, but its possible I may be using this stuff in the wrong order of application, because its doing nothing beneficial for me. If I get the hang of it, maybe I'll boost up my ratings.

The Oil Control Porcelaine Mattifying Powder is a winner. I have reoredered it about 7 times!
I use it as the last item, before I walk out the door. The magnesium keeps me matte all day.
I am appauled at the prices these skin store places are charging for basically the same ingredients! Aromaliegh must love us.
The products are amazing, and deliver what they say! Save some big bucks, like I do, and check the website for specials every week.
I am a devotee of Aromaleigh, because they really know what they are doing, plus they have a creative flair that would put other cosmetic companies to shame.
Try this powder........it works!
Sincerely, Carole

great stuff. I've been using it under voile for years, and now switched to using silk powder, then voile, then porcelaine. I dab with porcelaine during the day as needed and love that it does not cake up like other powders do. I use 2C voile and needed medium porcelaine.

Great Product
By Jennifer on August 28, 2007

Comments:

I have super oily skin, and unforunately Porcelaine is not a miracle product for oil control -- my skin is only a tiny bit less oily when I use Porcelaine than when I don't. However, this is still a must-have product for me because it makes my foundation last longer! Without Porcelaine, my Voile foundation rubs off ridiculously easy and even comes off in big streaks when I dab with a blotting sheet! But when I use the Porcelaine, the foundation stays perfect when I use the blotting sheets! So as long as I continue to blot a few times a day, the Porcelaine helps my foundation look great all day long!
Medium
By Pam H. on August 19, 2007

Comments:

I use Porcelaine Oil Control Mattifying Primer Powder year round. It does a great job of mattifying the shiny areas of my face after I've applied moisturizer. As a base, It keeps foundation from "clumping" in spots and allows more even application. In the summer, I just apply this lightly to my shiny areas and then use concealer. I took off one star due to the color descriptions are not a very good match to the actual product. This powder is very, very light colored (I'm extremely fair skinned and I use Medium). Keep that in mind when you try to match to your skin.

This really helps control oil, especially in the summer. It also helps my foundation last longer on my skin. Definitely recommend trying a sample if oily skin is a concern.

Comments:

My title says it all! If you have oily skin to any degree this product is a MUST! If you havent purchased it yet your just wasting time looking shiny when you could be looking perfectly matte.
I would be SOOOOOO lost without this wonder powder.
this has NEVER made me feel too dry nor has made my make-up flake.

p.s. A little goes a long way

I am so very pleased with the Porcelaine Oil Control Mattifying Primer Powder because it gives your skin a smooth, flawless, and porcelain appearance. This wonderful primer made the extra difference in the appearance of my skin and I've had many compliments throughout the year since first using it. It is the best primer I've used and I highly recommend it.

I recently purchased the Porcelaine Oil Control Mattifying Primer Powder. I like the way it goes on. I think it works well as a primer. However, in a couple of hours I'm oily again. I even dust some on after applying mineral foundation.

I am 37 yrs old & have always had oily skin and frequent breakouts. I can tell a difference w/this stuff. It helps my makeup stay thru the day where I used to have to powder every few hours to keep shine down. i love it. It takes very little to make a difference too.

Fills a need
By Allyson on March 13, 2007

Comments:

I needed a way to control oily breakthrough, and this was it. I don't use it on top of makeup as it looks chalky, but I put 2 layers on T-zone before my foundation (2WL) and it does the trick. Later in the day, foundation looks like me, not like makeup. (I don't use on my eyes, because I suspect it irritates them, but I'm not exactly certain.)
Mattifying Powders
By Janet on March 13, 2007

Comments:

I find the color selection too limiting - mostly too light. Although they are nice and provide a good base for the powder foundations - they do not control oil for very long. Continual application is necessary and then I get too much build up.

Holy grail product!
By Ellen on February 18, 2007

Comments:

Several years ago I found a natural, white powder that worked very well to keep the oilies at bay. But I had an inkling that Kristen could do better, so I sent her a sample of it and begged her to make her own version. And, wow, did she ever make it better! Since it's not white, it doesn't make me look ghostly and it is also much smoother in texture, so it glides on the skin and disappears. But most of all, it works even better than my white powder did. I even dust it on my eyelids before my eyeshadow and it keeps my shadow from creasing all day! It's awesome stuff. In summer, I mix this half and half with my Voile for a light, oil-fighting foundation. Thanks so much, Kristen!
Best ever

This is the only product I've ever found, of any kind, that truly mattifies my oily T-zone. It keeps me shine-free for hours without caking or drying out. I went without for a few months when I ran out, and it was a nightmare. I wear it every day. It blends right in to your skin without looking chalky. Everyone with oily skin should buy this product.

Really absorbs oil!
By Zoe on January 10, 2007

Comments:

All you need is a very thin layer of this to get the job done. I use this on my nose and chin and wow, does it really work well. No more sliding powder and yucky oilies. If you use too much, you will get dry patches. Just use a tiny, tiny bit. It works very well.
