"En Pointe"... a 2009 Limited Edition Collection now made permanent! 14 of the 20 original shades have been added to our constant line-up, thanks to your votes, feedback and emails.
En Pointe is inspired by one of my great loves... the ballet.
This is a gathering of lush shades, not just the expected ballet pink. For me, ballet is dramatic, emotional, and full of tragic beauty. With almost 20 years of ballet study, I watch not only dreaming that I could be on the stage, but knowing the iron strength and control that the most ethereal, graceful dancer must have.
"En Pointe" has a little bit of everything... plush matte shades with graceful iridescent highlights, a brilliant shimmering black and white that can make any color into whatever you imagine, and some lovely frosts with multi-faceted effects. Most of this year's collections have been straight frosts with vivid sparkling highlights, but this collection is more understated while still being full of mystery and transient beauty. The interference aspect of these shades is more pronounced when they are applied over a base, or foiled!
The photos of these colors barely touch what they truly are like in person...
Color Descriptions:
Arabesque: A refined bluish green with highlight shimmers of green and gold. Multi-facted and rich frost. (Frost)
Odile: A deep and mysterious smooth, lush mauve sheen with iridescent shine of green and blue and earthy undertones. (Smooth frost)
Dulcinea: Rich warm purple plush matte base with unexpected smooth green iridescent highlight. (Sheen)
Serenade: A color inspired by my favorite ballet. Beautiful smooth teal plush matte base with a lush violet iridescent highlight. (Sheen)
Calliope: As lovely as the muse herself, this is a go-to color. A soft plush matte base beholds softly shimmering beige and lilac tones. (Sheen, slight shimmer)
Waltz: A soft pale green plush matte base with a mysterious blue-green highlight tone. Use wet or over base for more drama! (Sheen, slight shimmer)
Coppelia: A lovely berried plum plush matte base with a dimensional smooth violet highlight. (Sheen)
Aurora: A pinky-beige plush matte base scattered with tiny shimmers of blue and pink. Fit for a princess. (Sheen, slight shimmer)
Myrtha: The rich deep blue green of night with an earthy base. Gorgeous dramatic blue-green highlight shimmer. Apply went for high drama, dry for softer effect. Plush matte base with sheen highlight.
Elegie: A dark dose of shimmering jewels. Add to other shades to deepen and dramatize, use wet-lined or all-over for a magnificent, glimmering smokey eye.
Piqué: A lovely mauved purply brown with light-changing lustre, travels from purply-blue to blue-green. (Sheen)
Clara: Festive warm purple with a twist... an unexpected smokey base and a sweet blue and pink traveling iridescent highlight. (Frost)
Tutu: Soft pink violet plush matte base with a soft golden copper highlight. (Sheen)
Sylph: Add a touch of shimmering tiara glamour to any shade to add sparkly and shine... brilliant sparkling jewels in a white plush matte base.

Comments:I hope you make serenade part of a permanent collection because it's absolutely amazing and there doesn't seem to be anything else like it! I wish I had bought a full jar instead of a sample. It looks even more fantastic when applied with a sealant. :) |

Comments:I like this collection more each time I use it. I started out a bit uncertain, as I'm quite partial to the extra sparkly shadows of previous LE collections. But after receiving my samples, I ordered several full sizes. Immediate favs where Terpischore, Sylph, Elegie, and Waltz. Gilselle, Pirouette, Serenade, Calliope, Aurora and Tutu soon followed. Terpischore is my absolute favorite from this collection, it's such a wonderful soft wear with anything shade. Truly lovely collection. Thanks Miss K! |

Comments:I purchased Elegie, Clara, and Pavane but have not yet used the first two much. Pavane I purchased against my better judgment (I was afraid it would be too little contrast); I should've listened. It turns gold on me, but it barely shows on my Level 3 skin. I might use it as a mixer; I like to lighten Coco Bean and make it a wearable midtone (since it makes such a fabulous accent shade anyway). Clara looks pretty so far...I'll have to come back and review it once I've used it more. |

Comments:I ordered a full set of sample colors, and so far I am most taken with sylph, elegie, and serenade. All of the En Pointe colors are lush and gorgeous with varying degrees of intensity - it truly is an extremely varied collection. On the product details page, it's suggested that sylph and elegie can be used to make a color lighter or darker as one wishes. I've been using them to make monochromatic palettes and I've been most pleased with the effect with lisette from the Bete Noire collection. This means lisette in the inner corner, lisette+elegie in the outer corner, and lisette+sylph at the center of the lid. Then I use sylph in the corner of my eye and as a brow highlighter with elegie in my crease. It's so much fun and it's expanded the possibilities for every other color of Aromaleigh shadow I own. Now I couldn't imagine using Aromaleigh without sylph and elegie. Sylph is true, pure white with amazing, subtle iridescent glimmer. It works well alone and when mixed with another color it adds a pearly, shimmering effect. Elegie is a soft black that smudges to dark gray with no other undertones. It's shot through with the finest, most delicate rainbow of shimmer imaginable. The effect it has on other shadows when mixed is just breathtaking, making them look like they're chock-full of diminutive jewels. As for serenade, the lovely translucent sheen doesn't even begin to come through in the photograph. However, I don't use it on my eyes. I don't know what possessed me, but I tipped a few grains into my finishing powder mix the other day. (Cherub+peaches and cream.) It made a soft, shimmering, faintly blue-gray color that I figured was a huge mistake. I used the mix out of curiosity and found that it made the most perfect finish ever. My skin is looks cool, even, and glowing in a way I can't manage without serenade. It's staple now and I'll be getting a full size jar as soon as I can. In short, the En Pointe collection is very unique, one that offers so many new options to the already outstanding selection at Aromaleigh. Even if you think you've applied it all, the colors from En Pointe offer unique options unavailable in other collections. |

Comments:when these came out i immediately ordered a few full sizes along with a bunch of samples. this collection is gorgeous and divinely feminine. the 3 shades i chose to get in full sizes actually ended up being my favorites (odile, coppelia, and giselle). awesome luck. my 4th would be terpischore.copellia changes dramatically on my skin... much different than it looks in the jar. applied dry it looks like a plummy deep coral and is my absolute fav from this collection. foiled it becomes more fuscia but still warm toned. odile has an earthy smoky base with the prettiest pinky-violet sheen... and when foiled this little lady dazzles like royal purple from the deepest amethyst. truly fit for a queen. giselle is definitely a lovely tea rose but with the golden highlight it looks more like a deep pinky-peach. this one is going to be addictive. everyone should at least get a full sample set. they are all extremely wearable and utterly fabulous. |

Comments:These colors are exactly what the descriptions say they are— truly multi-faceted. You need to see them in person to experience them.I am especially taken with Glissé. It is a luscious shade that is not quite cocoa and berry. It may be my new go-to shade. I wish these would stay around for awhile... |

Comments:This collection of LE eye shadows is my favorite that AL has released this year! The eye shadows are so lush and decadent! The majority of them have this plush finish that reminds me of velvet fabric, ball gown dresses with brocade, and the sheen of silk. They're so gorgeous and stunning. Do not miss this collection! |

Comments:I just received my full sample set of these shadows. It's a treat to see so many different finishes within one collection! There are several shades with contrasting sheen that make them unique- even in a company with hundreds of eyeshadow shades. So far my personal favourites are Dulcinea, Elegie, Sylph, Arabesque, Clara, and Serenade. But I do like all of them for their unique qualities. Thank you again for a wonderful limited edition collection... very well done! |
