Glissade looks just like you'd expect any mineral foundation to appear- a fine, loose powder... however, when you begin to apply it, you begin to feel a smooth, luxurious, gliding, silky feeling on your skin... application is effortless... the powder glides over your skin and melds with your own skintone yielding the appearance of perfection. In addition to it's emollient and buffering effects, Glissade offers similar benefits as our regular matte foundation powder, "Voilé". It is very finely milled and silky and contains Zinc Oxide, for full spectrum UVA/UVB protection. Glissade and Voilé also offer excellent coverage and skin adherence, and an expanded color palette! Glissade and Voilé also utilize advanced light-dispersing and skin-smoothing pigment technology.
What does "Glissade" mean? "Glissade" (pronounced glee-sod) is a French word typically found in the ballet studio... it defines a smooth, gliding connecting step in ballet choreography. But when it comes to your skin, "Glissade" is all about the smooth, gliding sensation of the foundation powder effortlessly blending with your skin!

A: Yes. Here’s a quick/basic listing of our undertones. We do recommend samples to find your perfect tone. We also offer our Pink, Yellow, Cool and Warm shades mixed with Linen for those seeking a perfect match. These shades are noted by a "P/L", "Y/L", "C/L" or W/L" code on the color chart and drop-down menu.
Yellows = beige + yellow
Warms = beige + yellow + peach
Neutrals = beige + yellow + peach + pink
Cools = beige + peach + pink
Pinks = beige + pink
Linens = just beige
Alabaster = no undertones, for the palest of pale skintones.
Ghost= pure white for absolute pale, or for mixing/lightening

Comments:i got this in three colors and found out that a mix of 3w and 3wl are perfect for me. this product is awesome. i apply it first wet as a spot concealer and before that dries i buff some on dry using my handy buki brush from bare minerals. i have a flawless face without the use of different products! i tried this out without the use of my primer and it did an awesome job of staying in place all day. after a few hours a little sheen did show up though. i get pretty oily anyway. but i'm going to try out the voile next order and see if that fares better for my combo skin. otherwise i really like this stuff! |

Comments:Wonderful feeling on skin, wonderful apperance! I love the way this foundation looks on me, it's a bit too dark as it is a bit darker than voile on me, but that's fixed by mixing more ghost into my foundation than normal. The issue for me, is that it clogs my pores, and thus only gets 3 stars as I'm still getting acne a while later from it, which is clearing up. However, this is a great product for special occasions and it's a bit more dewy(while still matte) than the voile. Wonderful product, but the acne/clogged pores just aren't worth it for everyday use. I'm sure most people would not have this issue though! |

I was never really into make-up until I found AL, but Glissade matches my skin tone almost perfectly, looks very, natural, and doesn't feel heavy at all. Comments:I'm back to Glissade. I had tried many, many other mineral (and other types) of makeups, but Glissade is the one that'll probably stay in my makeup drawer. I actually preferred the texture and smoothness of the Raw Minerals brand, but it just has so many sparkles in it, that I can't use it daily. Glissade is a good daily color. In summer I can go with a light moisturizer, but my very dry winter skin needs moisturizer AND a good primer. Even so, it's still a bit more drying than I like, but the coverage and color makes it the most acceptable for me. I add a bit of Nocturn to my blend for a nice sheen without actual "sparkles" in it, and makes it a kind of treatment makeup for me. Overall - I keep coming back to Glissade. When they find a way to make it more finely textured (as it is a little bit "gritty" on my dry skin), and slightly more moisturizing - it will be my absolute Holy Grail makeup and I can stop my constant search for the ultimate makeup. Until then - it's still my best option. |

Comments:Great, great product! The key to the perfect finish is the primer. I got very different results with different primers. I'm still playing around with it but silicone based primers seems to actually sort of peel off when you apply with a sponge. A light oil control lotion seems to work best. |

My skin would become incredibly dried out and break out in odd little bumps every time I tried to use any other mineral foundation. I was ready to hate this when I got it, and was happy to find that it worked out really well for me. Aromaleigh knows their stuff! It helps cover my blemishes way better than the liquid foundations I had used up until now. Not only does it look like I'm not even wearing foundation but it doesn't slick right off of bumps and stick to the skin around them and make them more obvious like liquid does. I also used a concealer brush and used this on anything I wanted covered up and again it worked ten times better than all my previous makeup. Comments:I have very oily skin and use acne medicine. The trick is to keep your skin as smooth as possible, then apply foundation. It's so much faster than liquid, looks better, and feels better too.The other brands seemed intimidating with brush and swirl or something. Comments:I bought a bunch of samples, and found that 00-Alabaster Glissade was perfect straight out of the baggie! I tried both Voile and Glissade, and liked the look of Glissade better. I'm as pale as it gets (whilst still having a pulse), and I wanted to use mineral makeup that didn't make me look like an orange wax dummy (like every other mineral lightest color out there). So far, so good! So I bought a full size jar and I can tell this will last me a long time as it doesn't seem to take much to cover up all the 'uglies' on my face. I'm just hoping that I dont end up breaking out from this stuff, but I was already breaking out from liquid foundation, so it wouldn't be that much of a shock. I do like that its the whitest stuff I've ever seen without making me look like a ghoul. |

Blemishes are now a rare occurrance.I actually receive compliments on my skin - people don't think I'm wearing makeup, they think I have perfect skin! Your skin can breathe, and looks natural, but perfected. The generous samples make it possible to find your perfect color, please do take advantage of them. The right color of Glissade will blend right into your skin, making you look fabulous. There is truly a perfect color for us all, as you can mix if neccesary. Plus, the experimentation is so much fun! I have introduced my mother and my teen daughter to it, and both now wear it exclusively. It also lasts FOREVER, both on the skin and in the jar. It takes such a small amount to get good coverage, and lasts me all day. You get FAR more than your money's worth, Glissade is so affordable and lasts for so long. I can't imagine putting heavy liquid foundation on my skin ever again. I'm completely spoiled by Aromaleigh. |

Comments:I forgot to mention that I apply with a dry makeup sponge as opposed to a brush. I find I get better coverage and lasting power that way. I noticed "Mindy", in an earlier review, mentioned that she wasn't getting quite enough coverage, I would like to suggest sponge application to her. |

Comments:I own a full line of Bare Essentials, and it doesn't compare to the Glissade line of foundation. I have problems with my skin being flaky with Bare Essentials. I still have this problem with Glissade, but must less so. The coverage is better, not to mention the available range of skin tones. It is smoother, silkier and with better coverage. The only thing I like better is B.E.'s Bisque concealer as compared to Pure Cover - but I think I just bought the wrong shade. Great foundation. |

Comments:It does feel good on your skin and those who don't like to wear make-up should love it. But it doesn't hide a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g at all. I have been blending it with purecover, so hopefully I will find the right blend to cover the sun damage and dark circles that I have. I have a difficult time putting on too much or too little. When I get it just right, I get compliments on my skin, which never happens to me. |

Comments:I am so glad I took a chance and tried this foundation. I bought a full size of 2n, without trying a sample first, because the website said it was the closest match to BE's fairly light, which I had been using before (it exacerbated my acne so I had to stop using it). The first thing I noticed is that, wow, it actually matches my skin tone! BE's fairly light always turned very yellow and darkened on me, which was pretty unflattering. Glissade is also more of a matte satin texture...it doesn't have that odd white-ish glow that BE's did. Also, my skin is already clearing up, and its only been a little over a week that I've been using this! I am so, so, so glad I found this foundation!At first I was sort of disappointed in the coverage, but I have found that using the flocked sponge, slightly damp, gives me much better coverage on my problem areas. I will definitely repurchase! |

Now that I have been newly diagnosed with perioral dermatitis, my already sensitive skin is EVEN more sensitive but Glissade does wonders for it. I started with Voile, which I really liked. Then I decided to try Glissade and I really love it. It goes on so nicely and you can't even see it on the skin, but the coverage is excellent. I have oily/combo skin, and I was afraid that the very slight sheen Glissade has would make my oily skin look worse. But it turned out that it made my whole face look more natural, like I barely have any makeup on at all. Highly recommended!Also, I have many brushes, but the Aromaleigh Baby Taklon Kabuki is amazing. Fits the nose area perfectly, and makes it very easy to apply a little extra only where you need it. ALL OF THEM WERE TOO DARK even in their lightest shade! then i finally found glissade... and started using it in "alabaster". i was afraid it would be too pale since it is essentially "white"... but it's not at all! it's a very natural, pretty white. ever since i started using it, i've gotten soooo many compliments from strangers about my skin / complexion, telling me i look like a porcelain doll. it's so amazing to find a foundation pale enough for me, and vegan-friendly too. i honestly cannot recommend this enough. perfect!!! |

Though I tend to get oily, my combo skin has never looked so beautiful! The perfect shade eluded me during the summer months as my tanned Indian skin kept getting, well, tanner. But with perseverance and so many delightful options, I have managed to strike a balance between my yellow and reddish undertones with full orders of: 3W, 4WL, and 4YL.3W - perfect for winter into spring 4WL - great for transitioning from midsummer to the hotter months 4YL - integrates wonderfully with the other 2 shades to airbrush any uneven skintone caused by random summer sun exposure I love using the Matte Finish Foundation w/CoQ10 as a primer to give my foundation that extra velvety finish and staying power and occasionally I'll set my face with the Perfect Finish Setting Spray. Lastly, I absolutly love the Taklon Concealer brush--I have blemishes from some bad breakouts and the "generously modest" (AKA freakin' PERFECT!) size of the bristles cuts my makeup coverage by more than half. Can't wait to get one for my foundation! |

Comments:I am a long time user of Glissade- I've used it pretty much exclusively for two or three years now, maybe a little longer even. I have very oily skin, and it is a very difficult to match shade (very very pale but yellow undertones). I have tried pretty much every possible foundation at one time or another I think! Glissade is so, so much better than 99% of all products, low or high end, that I have tried.First of all, the coverage is perfect- you can take it from sheer to medium/full depending on your application method. Second I have come to adore how little time it takes to apply a powder as opposed to a liquid- much faster! Then there is the SPF- that is an absolute MUST and I'm pretty sure Glissade is at least an SPF 17 or more, maybe even 30. I also love how it is so gentle on my skin- I never break out anymore, never. You really can literally sleep in it if you forget to take your makeup off. It does need touching up after about 6 hours, but I've never found a foundation that didn't- and Glissade is a lot more "repairable" than some. A good thorough blotting, dust a tiny bit more on with a sponge, and some translucent powder and you're good for the rest of the day. Most liquid makeup you can't reapply a bit if you have to; that's a big bonus for those of us with oily skin. It also lasts through sweating way better than most foundation. For some reason it doesn't sweat off unless you wipe at it; if you either blot or leave it alone, generally it looks fine. You can swim in it too, even... though you can't wipe your face dry, of course. The price is really tough to beat and Iove buying from a smaller company too. The color selection, especially in the pale range, is unbeatable... I think the addition of pure white was genius, it makes a great mixer. Do be aware that the colors can vary just a hair, though. Usually it isn't a problem as their color range is pretty forgiving- for example, I've found about three different mixes of colors that look equally natural on my skin. |

Comments:I have oily skin and Glissade is my favorite foundation to date. I've been using it for about 6 months. It does not accentuate my pores and, with a little extra time and attention) covers my problem areas very well. I love the color selection available - it is nearly impossible to find a color match for me in the stores. I think I'll have a better experience with the wear once I get the primer. It's fine if I blot and touch up during the day, but I don't always have time to do that. A small sacrifice for the color and coverage that I've been looking for! |
