What is "Voilé"?
Voilé is finely milled and silky and contains Zinc Oxide, for full spectrum UVA/UVB protection. Voilé also utilizes advanced light-dispersing and skin-smoothing pigment technology.
What does "Voilé" mean? Voile= veil in French. (Voilé is pronounced "Vwa-lay"). Voile is also the name given to delicate, diaphanous cotton fabric. Voilé provides a lightweight, breathable layering for your skin... melding with your skin to give the appearance of perfection. It's "Your Skin... Only Better" (TM).

We use only pure, refined, and finely millled cosmetic-grade minerals in our formulations. Our loose mineral cosmetic face powders are light, breatheable, and provide natural barrier protection from the sun. You'll find it hard to believe that something this lightweight could provide such excellent coverage, but that's thanks to the nature of our ingredients. In particular, silky mica powder. This mineral covers your skin in a micro-thin layer, reflecting light, flattering your face and reducing the outer appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Excellent for oily skintypes, you'll love the mattifying effect of this powder.
What is the coverage of Voilé comparable to? Voilé's coverage is comparable to brands such as Bare Escentuals, Youngblood, Jane Iredale and GloMinerals. However, with Voilé, you can easily achieve variable coverage depending on your application tools.
You can achieve variable coverage with Voilé? Voilé is different from commercially available mineral makeup foundation powders containing Bismuth oxychloride. These products have a "creamy" feel due to the bismuth ingredient, but great care must be taken to apply a thin, even layer of powder to avoid a "mask-like" or overly shiny appearance.
Sometimes, time consuming application techniques, such as buffing and use of various brushes is employed to achieve desireable results. Some powders are glimmery and a cornstarch-based finishing powder must be used in order to reduce the shine.
However, none of this applies to Aromaleigh Voilé Mineral Makeup Foundation... Voilé is very different from traditional mineral cosmetic foundation powders. It feels different on the skin. The ingredients are different. It's light and breathable. It is perfectly matte. It is very easy to apply. It does not accentuate pores and fine lines. It can act as a foundation powder or a finishing powder depending on what you use to apply it. It's truly a versatile product!
Do you want heavier coverage? Then apply your Voilé over well-moisturized skin with a flocked sponge, or try the wet application method.
Do you want medium coverage? Then apply your Voilé over well-moisturized skin with a soft kabuki brush, such as our "Delectable" kabuki... start with one thin layer and then add more powder to areas where you need additional coverage.
Want light coverage? Then use a soft, fluffy brush to apply your Voilé. Dip your brush into the powder and twirl to pick up product, then lightly whisk over your face,
"Set" your mineral powder with a few spritzes of toner or spring water, and you're good to go!Bismuth oxychloride? No. None of our cosmetics contain this ingredient, which can be irritating to certain skintypes. Some customers report that bismuth oxychloride can also make their faces itch, or cause breakouts.
Are your face powders shiny, or "glowy"? No. Unlike other mineral makeup powders which are often highly illuminating or shiny when applied.

A: Yes. Here’s a quick/basic listing of our undertones. We do recommend samples to find your perfect tone. We also offer our Pink, Yellow, Cool and Warm shades mixed with Linen for those seeking a perfect match. These shades are noted by a "P/L", "Y/L", "C/L" or W/L" code on the color chart and drop-down menu.
Yellows = beige + yellow
Warms = beige + yellow + peach
Neutrals = beige + yellow + peach + pink
Cools = beige + peach + pink
Pinks = beige + pink
Linens = just beige
Alabaster = no undertones, for the palest of pale skintones.
Ghost= pure white for absolute pale, or for mixing/lightening

Comments:AL rescued this 48 y/o from a lifetime of foundation misery way back in Jan '03 - and since then I haven't even considered using another brand of foundation - yes, it's really that good.So when my 13 y/o daughter asked to begin using foundation this year, I ordered a few Voile samples for her to try - it was a very easy color match, she's a cool and I'm a warm - I learned that daughters may inherhit many of our physical features, but not necessarily our same skintone. Her complexion has improved SO MUCH since using AL's "Nocturne" nightly and "Voile" during the day. Comments:I tried to find a department store for this foundation to save a few bucks in these hard times, but all I found was either a poor color selection, or mineral poweders that had many added ingredients (the first ingredient in Cover Girl's mineral foundation is TALC and every other brand I checked had waxes, silicones, or no zinc oxide for sun protection). I actually put this foundation on my face before I go to sleep because it makes my skin look better the next day (for some reason, although I have Nocturne , this works better for me). THe color selection cannot be beat anywhere and this foundation is great for those of us with oil or large pore problems who cannot wear shiny powder without looking awful. The only thing I will say is that it is helpful to blend wth moisturizer in order to avoid accentuating fine lines or flakey skin. |

Comments:I just tried on another foundation from a to remain unnamed company, that had more ingredients and which I thought therefore would be better than AL's foundation. Big nope! The AL foundation with less ingredients in this case seems to equal the foundation melding quicker and better into my face. I tried on several colors and it turns out that face swatches aren't the same as full face applications. I thought 2YL was definitely wrong based on a face swatch/thick swipe test, but once applying the foundation full-face, that was my best color. I am warm toned. The N turned peachy on me after a couple of hours although it seemed to be a pretty good match at first. So sample first, and wait a couple of hours to make sure it doesn't change shades on you. I am quite oily at times, and this oil will show through the voile after a couple of hours in a muggy setting, but that is easily fixed with a light dusting of foundation or one of AL's powders (porcelain med and ultra resolution finishing powder clear in my case). What I like is that when I touch up, since the color is such a great match and melds with my skin, my face doesn't look progessively more made up as the day goes on. I initially felt itching/tightness when I used this formula, but that was fixed by using moisturizer first. So don't jump immediately to glissade if you feel that. Also, when I first applied the foundation it looked chalky. There were several reasons for this. One I didn't moisturize. Two, I didn't apply several light layers, I applied one heavy one. Three, after applying the foundation, I now lightly rub my cheek area with my palm to smooth the foundation down there where my biggest pores are. Finally, a setting spray might help. |

Comments:I got the full jar on a whim because I thought when looking at the chart and reading reviews I was 2YL. Well, I am almosT 2YL, not quite since I have more warmer/peachy tones. I found that mixing 2WL with 2YL was more my shade :) But even now, I'm on the lookout for my skintone. Maybe 2W may work for me also as a skintone so I'm not sure. I might even try to the "3" family in samples because I'm still not sure which is my skintone. I suggest anyone to try samples first always. Finding my shade has been slightly complicated lol. 'Overall, the cover is pretty good and has a good finish. I usually will use concealer then put this foundation over it. It covers perfections like my acne scars really well. Like that it leaves my face matte and natural, doesn't feel like anything. My sister thought I wasn't wearing makeup when in fact, I had AL foundation on! That made me happy :) |

Comments:WONDERFUL PRODUCT! I love this, it actually matches my skin tone, 1 cool linen mixed with a teensy bit of ghost. I'm extremely fair and this is an issue for me. It's not as nice a finish as glissade, but it does not make me break out. I love this product. It gives me a flawless apperance, just I prefer the very minor difference in glissade for special occasions. This covers without caking or anything. And it's not much more than a drugstore foundation. :) |

I find that the coverage is a little lighter than I would like and that I have experienced with other mineral foundations. I have combination skin and find this to be a little drying. I think it would be a great product for someone with oily skin that doesn't require a lot of coverage. In fact, this is better than Bare Essentials mineral foundation, which is heavier and shinier, and accentuates my flaws until it wears off in a couple of hours. But for my oily, middle aged skin, mineral foundation does not seem to be the way to go. Comments:After getting samples of all the ivory shades and matching 1L to my face and neck, I compared my old brand of mineral makeup (Everyday Minerals Sandy Fair) on one side of my face with Voile on the other. The main ingredient difference between these two products is that Voile contains silica. The first thing I noticed is that Voile has better, more even coverage with less product. Voile seems to be more finely milled. The greater range of color choices allowed a better match for my skin--I found that the tones in my previous "beige" shade were much closer to the peachy shade of Voile 1N. After a few hours, the Voile side showed more oil, but not significantly more. The EM can look powdery on first application, but Voile went on very smoothly.I've heard products described as "skin-flattering" before, but this is the first time I've found one that really looked and felt that way to me. I have terrible, flaky, rough, and acne-prone skin, and Voile is the first foundation I've found that doesn't look cakey or heavy, but just plain good. I wouldn't describe it as "matte"--if you have oily skin or use a moisturizer it will definitely show through--so it's not going to be an all-in-one product for everyone. But overall, it's the best mineral foundation I've found, and I recommend it. |

Comments:I tried Sheer Miracle and found a pretty good match, but I wanted a one stop shop and Aromaleigh has so much to chose from. I like the coverage I get from the Voile in 5N. I do get shine through relatively quickly though. I've been using Porcelaine and have started to add Silk Powder to the mix as well and that extends the matte look for a few more hours. I'm relatively new to using makeup and decided that I wanted to use minerals. I'm so happy with all the Aromaleigh products that I've tried so far. |

Comments:I am 45 and have very sensitive skin w/ acne, cystic acne and redness to boot. I have worn mineral makeup for 9 yrs. and have tried 9 brands in my search for the best. IMHO Voile is Simply the BEST! This formula can be applied soft - heavy, blends beautifully, morphs into your skin, has no glow or sparkle, lasts all day w/o touch ups, dose not settle into fine lines or acne scars like others do, dose not iratate or cause break outs, requires no finishing powder, looks absolutely like your skin, but better! If you have trouble w/ this foundation, may I suggest you rethink your moisturizer, tools or try a spritzer afterwards. Work w/ it, and it will work w/ you. I use 2Y lightly to conceal redness, green is too ashy on my Irish skin, 2N winter, 3N summer can also wear 2W and 3W or mix till my hearts content. |

I have always had problem skin...since high school (I'm 35)...and struggled to find a foundation which didn't clog my pores, cause further skin issues, or dry me out completely. I tried EVERYTHING. Three years ago, when searching for a better option (as a 30-something, you should not have to worry about your skin this much...), I decided to check into mineral make-up on the recommendation of a friend. She uses a high-priced mineral make-up, and I refused to pay that much...so I did some research. I thought I would give Aromaleigh a try...and I was thoroughly impressed then. Haven't touched anything since, until about six months ago, when you folks went on vacation for a week and I ran out...and needed foundation right away. Comments:After seeing a neutral eyes palatte by a well-known drugstore brand, I thought I'd try to replicate it with AL. I am 3W, so I bought Ghost (VX), 1W, 2W, 4W and 5W samples. I successfully achieved a no-makeup lookwith Porceline primer, then 2W lash to brow, 4W on lid, 5W in crease, and VX on browbone and inner corner. I used Umber dry at my lash line, and lots of mascara. Beautiful. Just what I was hoping for! Looks great with Medium Bronzer or Verve and clear, pink, or red lips. Comments:i can tell i'll be hooked on this foundation for a while - maybe forever. here's why:the coverage is medium-heavy depending on how much you put on. yesterday my boyfriend kept staring at me in awe about how more beautiful my face looked after Aromaleigh's products (lt.-med. primer, pure cover concealer, voile, then metamorphisis). i kept getting hasseled all day by him because of it. then later that night we went to costco (the only thing i reapplied that day was a little primer on the t-zone to tone down some oil), and there were some mirrors, and usually i dread glancing in the mirror at that time of the day because my makeup is usually faded by then and full of oil. BUT i glanced at that mirror and just stood there staring... kinda conceited-ish... but for once everything looked even toned, matte, natural, and just plain beautiful. so a little warning, you may get TOO much attention with how flawless your skin looks after this. almost model-like. thanks Aromaleigh!! |

Comments:I ordered sample baggies of a few shades of the voile foundation, and now that they've come in I know that I'm going to buy a full-size jar! This is my first experience with mineral makeup; I was using L'Oreal True Match foundation before, and it always seemed to melt off of my face because of how oily my skin is. I tried out the voile as soon as it arrived, and it was odd how so little of it completely evened out my skin tone and helped cover my blemishes! And as the day went on, it stayed matte and didn't need any touchups. I'm definitely going to order some, but I've got a few glissade samples coming in the mail soon and am excited to try those out, too! |

Comments:I've tried just about every mineral foundation out there and have had problems with all of them EXCEPT for Aromaleigh. Until I discovered this line, I was using Bare Escentuals, but if I wear it too often I found I would break out terribly. The color of BE wasn't great for my skin tone and no amount of mixing would achieve the right color. I bought samples of every color recommended for my BE color and found two that worked perfectly for me. I don't look like I'm wearing makeup with the Aromaleigh Voile and I can wear it every day (and if I'm too lazy to wash my face at night) and my skin is finally clearing up again (I'm not claiming that this gets rid of acne, I think it just doesn't contribute to it in my case, making it easier to clear up). |

Comments:I've tried MANY different brands of mineral makeup and this is by far the best. It seems to be milled much finer than any other and goes onto the skin like matte satin. It does not accentuate my pores like others. After many years of using BE my face began to get itchy after wearing it for a few hours. I assume my skin became sensitive to the bismuth oxychloride and Aromaleigh does not put that ingredient in it's foundation. Also, I always felt like my poors were accentuated and I'd find myself using more to try to improve the look of my skin but then I just looked all cakey. I don't need to use as much Voile as other brands. Another plus is that there are so many color choices. I felt like what I typically used was too yellow for my skin with the medium shades of all other brands that I tried. I am much more comfortable with the shade I found for my skin with Aromaleigh. I think you get more for your money. Aromaleigh pots have more product in them for less money. It is the best for me. I appreciate all of the information on the Aromaleigh web site, it really helped me with my questions. I could go on and on. Thank you, Kristen for making such a superb product. Comments:Yea, no bismuth! I have sensitive and combination skin, so that particular ingredient was a tremendous irritant. I have tried close to a dozen different mineral foundations over the past year, and Aromaleigh is by far the best. This is a perfect match for my pale skin with yellow undertones. It covers my rosacea completely and leaves me with a perfect one color face. I use Voile in the winter and Glissade in the summer. Comments:I love this foundation. My first experience with Mineral Foundation was horrible. I tried Bare Minerals and that was a huge mistake on my part. I have very sensitive skin and the Bare Minerals made my face itch like crazy and it actually caused a pock mark on my forehead. It's like it ate thru my skin. It was a really bad experience. I found out that it's the bismuth oxychloride that caused this reaction. So, I set out to find a mineral foundation that does not have bismuth oxychloride in it. I tried Afterglow and used it for a while, but was not extremely happy with it. Then I found Aromaleigh Voile and have been using it ever since. It's a great product and it's perfect for my sensitive, acne-prone skin. The color selection is outstanding!! I found my perfect blend by first ordering samples and then experimenting a little bit. Shipping is fast and consistent. Packaging is great. I highly recommend Aromaleigh!!! I'm done with liquid and cream foundations that are full of chemicals that either break me out or make me have an allergic reaction. I'm sticking with Aromaleigh!! Thank you!! |

Comments:first of all, i can never find makeup that fits my skin! I am verry fair, but i can tan, people call me 'peaches and cream' and every makeup i try is too orange too pink too dark. I tried BE in fair the lightest one they have and it fit my skin tone well but was still too dark!!!!!! very fustrating and also it felt thick and cakey even as a powder and it settled into lines i didnt have and after a while of wearing it my face looks horribly greasy!!! This powder is verry different, it is light, doesnt settle into anything, and really does a great job as makeup in general. no greasy shine either. Comments:I've been using this for a while now (I think since it first came out in 04?) and its great. I'm pale with freckles and warm/yellow skin tone and 2wl matches perfectly (so well, I even use it wet as my concealer). Because I'm allergic to EVERYTHING I hate makeup and moisturizer and just about anything that has to touch my face (and therefore makes me break out or get red blotches). I'm a model and pretty much only wear makeup when i'm working or have something that needs to be covered up (eg, when I have the flu and look like death warmed over without makeup). This is a great product and mostly because it contains zinc and I'm allergic to sunscreen I've worn it a lot, especially in the summer because it doesn't melt off! I only have one TINY COMPLAINT and that's about the container, which does NOT TRAVEL WELL in a makeup bag. To solve this problem, I bought a lancome travel powder brush (with the powder in the handle and refillable), dumped the powder and put my foundation in its place - well worth dumping $30 worth of lancome in the toilet! :)oh yeah, and I must tell you the eyeshadows are amazing too. Alchemy almost made me convert from my beloved MAC...almost! |

Comments:I have spent years searching for a foundation that actually matched my very clear, slightly warm, and super-pale skin. I've tried drugstore products, department store brands, and other mineral brands, and nothing came close. And since my skin is very oily and acne-prone, I need a matte foundation that doesn't clog pores, which limited my choices even further. Voile is THE first foundation that I've been able to find a perfect match in (well, I have to mix colors, but it works so I'm happy! I can wear mixes of either Alabaster+1W or Alabaster+1W+1Y). I also love how it has a matte finish (a lot of other mineral makeup I've seen is shimmery) and like all mineral makeup, it's safe for my acne prone skin. This is the only foundation I've tried where people have told me that it's so natural it doesn't even look like I am wearing foundation! This product goes on smooth and it is invisable as soon as it hits your skin.The other thing I love is that there are so any choices in color. With traditional store bought formulas, you will only get a few shades. Which when applied, really does not do what it is suppose to. I like this because it gives an impectable smooth finish. Comments:Very versatile. Not drying at all. I have oily skin, but also am 45 so have wrinkles. I used to brush it on with fancy brush, but there's too much lost in air. Now I moisturize my face, then buff it on with a dry sponge. Is slightly heavier coverage than brushing, but tad less coverage than wet-sponging. And not a drop is lost in air through dust!
